BIOS Master Password

When you open a laptop & find yourself faced with the immediate black BIOS password screen & absolutely no idea of what password you used, all you gotta do is come to this page @ 1024kb.co.nz.

Many HP/Compaq, Dell, Lenovo, Sony, Samsung, Acer, Asus, Lenovo or Fujitsu laptop BIOS passwords can be revealed.

Hints & Tips

Asus
In the case of Asus laptops it’s the date code you require – enter an incorrect password then press Alt +R at the next prompt. Take that date & enter it in the BIOS Master Password Generator below in the same order (yyyy-dd-mm or dd-mm-yyyy) as displayed on your Asus laptop.
Lenovo
If your laptop has an Insyde H20 BIOS, then your secret sauce is to use a USB keyboard to enter the master password generated here.
HP EliteBook/ProBook
For Elitebook & ProBook (up to 2014) there is an alternative method available here in the downloads section. Highly effective on vulnerable machines, full instructions included.
Late Model HP
Envy, Omen, Spectre, ZBook, Elite, Pro, Folio & more can access our premier guaranteed solution. Confirmed working 100% on all current HP laptops except X360 & X2.
Dell
After entering the password in Dell laptops, press & hold the left Ctrl key then hit Enter twice.  Also, some Dell service tags are missing a suffix – just try the passwords for all suffices by adding either -595B, -2A7B, -D35B, -1F66 or -6FF1 to your service tag.
Fujitsu
For the later 6×4 password implementation, download & install Python 2.7 (available for all platforms), then grab the Fujitsu 6×4 Python script & run it. All done.
Sony
If your response code pattern is 4 x 4, then it’s a one-time password, generated fresh each boot. Do not turn the laptop off after obtaining the Challenge Code as the Master Password is specific to that code. Restarting before the password is entered will require a new Master Password.
List of Vulnerable BIOS
Compaq 5 decimal digits, 10 characters Dell bios code ending with -595B, -D35B, -2A7B, -1D3B, -1F66 & -6FF1 Fujitsu-Siemens 5 decimal digits, 8 hexadecimal digits, 5×4 hexadecimal digits, 5×4 decimal digits Hewlett-Packard 5 decimal digits, 10 characters Insyde H20 8 decimal digits Phoenix 5 decimal digits Sony 7 digit serial number, 4 x 4 one-time Samsung 12 hexadecimal digits Asus Date code

Anyway, whichever BIOS-locked laptop you have, grab the Machine ID Code - sometimes called the Service Tag, Challenge Code or Response Code  - usually displayed after submitting a few (3-5) incorrect codes - that’s the unique identifier we need. Pay special attention when reading the code, be careful not to confuse I & l or O & 0, B & 8, S & 5.

Now enter that code in the box below, hit the Crack It button.... Ka-ching!! No surveys to fill out, no pop-under pR0n adverts, just pure goodness & quite likely your Laptop BIOS Master Password too.

When you've done your Laptop BIOS Master Password Reset, please leave a comment, send a tweet, or do whatever peeps do on Facebook to tell the wwworld about your win...

  7. I have an HDD S/N A1022087 and Service Tag: CV28MP1. Please can anyone help me with the Password. It’s a Dell Inspiron Laptop

    1. Some Dell service tags are missing a suffix – just try the passwords for all suffices by adding either -595B, -2A7B, -D35B, -1F66 or -6FF1 to your service tag.

  8. It worked for me but i forgot to disable the administrator password. I restarted my laptop and now the administrator lock is back. How the hell could this happen?

  10. Hi Megabyte, tried to do a dell(1QVLM32-1F66), but your gen is not working, nothing comes as result. It worked for me in the past a couple times, thanks for your awesome solution anyway but did you update your code again? 🙂 (tried edge and FF)

    1. Hey thanks for the heads-up. I’m still not sure exactly what caused that, my suspicion is the Cloudflare caching rules that I created yesterday. Anyways, it’s fixed & doing what it does – generating BIOS Master Passwords.

  11. Hi, I tried for 7N18QQ2-BF97, but nothing found on your site. please if you can help. many thanks.

    1. 36833275 – please note, this is a one-time password. If you’ve rebooted your Vaio since posting your challenge code then it will have a new challenge code now & you’ll need to visit the Master Password Generator again.

  21. I have a 2015 hp, I purchased from auction, has admin or power password. There is no way I would pay for this “guaranteed solution” when there is nothing usable for any other computers here.

    1. Ericka – displaying her inability to read comments.
I’m actually quite happy not doing business with you & knowing that your HP remains useless. So far today I’ve taken 10 HP UEFI solution orders & not once have I ever had to issue a refund. My solution works, your laptop doesn’t.

  22. Hello!

many times I typed wrong bios password, so the bios of Acer Aspire V5-471G notebook has blocked. I tried many web link bios master password generator (for yours too), but didn’t work.
I disassambled my notebook and under the RAMs two pins I connected 20-30 sec. G2201 BIOS password reset, G2101 and G2701 power button. It’s didn’t work too.
The BIOS of the notebook is Phoenix securecore BIOS.
    Please help me.

  23. Hello.
Have an Acer Aspire A114-31 notebook and was forget bios password. Can boot from internal hard drive but cannot from usb or sd due to disabled functions. Code I get is: 1536031184. With generated unlock key I cannot do much as it is NOT correct.
Can You please help about that?
    Thank You

  24. I have a Dell Inspiron 15, the model number is 3521-6024, the service tag is CH36GW1. I have tried putting the service tag in the generator but nothing happens. Please help, I have been struggling for days with this.

    1. In the case of newer UEFI Dell laptops, your best bet is to contact Dell Support – they’re very helpful in situations like this.

  25. I am from india, i am having sony vpceh3aen laptop .which was locked bios from two years but it was working normally because i did not tried 3rd time and today i tried it my password is cracked with this site .i am very thankful to this website owner again thank you my english is poor

  26. The Button is not working for me. I have a Dell Servic tag DX64QY1 When I hit generate nothing happens.

    1. That’s because the Master Password Generator only supports Dell laptops with 7-digit code plus one of the following suffixes: -595B -D35B -2A7B -1D3B -1F66 & -6FF1

If your system does not provide that type of System ID, all I can suggest is that you try official Dell Support, they are pretty good to deal with.

    1. Sorry, I haven’t got that algorithm, I don’t know anyone that does. You could always try Dell Support, they’re quite good to deal with.

  27. He’s referring to the “Crack” button on your webpage. It’s doing the same thing to me. Click and nothing happens. I’m going to try to update my Java and see if that helps.

  28. Thank you very much.Sony Vaio has reset the Notebook bios.
I would also recommend your site to my friends.

  29. Hi there, I have an Acer Swift SF315-51 which produces a 10-digit numeric unlock key after 3 failed attempts. I’ve tried entering it with ctr+enter, I made sure to try using all forms of letters (l vs L, 0 vs o) but nothing works, it this because the algorithm only cracks 8 digit acer passwords?

  30. I thought I had a pointless contribution to the huge pile of electronic waste that we’re generating until my friend showed me this website. Now I’ve got an excellent laptop for university!

  31. Thank you so much, it really belp me bypass my laptop that i found in storage. Although i did get the right pw at another website they did not give me the hint of hitting control enter. Once again thankyou for your help.

  32. Hallo ich habe eine Toshiba Satellite c670d-126 bei dem kommt kein code was kann ich da machen bitte um hilfe

    1. Hey thanks Dakota, I didn’t realise that the Asus Master Password Generator wasn’t working. After some quick keyboard action, it is now. Check it out again. Your password is 0L2LBADB

    1. Dell tell me the process for entering the generated password in your laptop is:
Enter the generated Master Password, press Enter. If the computer responds with the message Invalid Password, press the Enter key and continue to enter the same password three more times. After the fourth attempt the BIOS should accept the master password, clear the password and allow access.

        1. Are you entering the response code exactly as it’s displayed on the Dell? I don’t recall seeing a Dell response code with lower case characters. The Master Password for the one you gave – 230r3c2-1f66 – is w9C49rRZQWJFZlf6 (3rd last is lower L), whereas if we replace the lower case letters with capitals – 230R3C2-1F66 – then we get zYkqw19iDC5313B0.

          Does that help?

          1. Yes I used lowercase it just auto currected when I pasted it here I used one that started with z

  33. Hi!

Could it be possible to get the master password of a Dell Latitude E6410 please ? I try several time but never works. My Service Tag is JRDLZN1-1F5A

Thank you very much for your help!

  34. Can I get some help please. I have a Dell Inspiron 11.
    Service Tag: 88WRC82
    Express Code: 17953011362
Can I get some help ASAP with a working code. Ive tried calling support, and have tried all available codes even with left/right ctrl. Thanks!!!!

  35. Hey I have a Dell Inspiron 3542 and the service tag is short – F06ZL52. Ive tried many generators but haven’t been able to get any of the keys to work. Do you know if that model requires a left or right ctrl-enter? Any tips? Thanks much.

    1. Sorry Tom, it’s way beyond the spec of this service to provide the particular password entry nuance for each model Dell produce. Rather than the Service Code, have you found your BIOS response code, finishing like -1F66 or -1F5A or similar. Throw that into the Laptop BIOS Master Password Generator.

    1. Press & hold the Left Ctrl key. Carefully enter the BIOS master password. Keep holding Ctrl key. Press Enter. You may need to press Enter twice.

  36. Wooowwww coooooolll
    Awesome.
    Worked for my Dell E5440 1F66 .

    Thank you guys.

    Thanks for the FREE.

You founders of this site are not living for nothing.

    You leave something behind.

    Respect for you.

  37. Heyyyyy help me pls, my Acer aspire 7 has a key of 10 digits, the password generator doesn’t work because it says that insydeh2o has 8 digits but I have 10. I have read another comment of a guy that has an Acer aspire also with 10 digits.. my insydeh2o version is 1.13. how to solve?

      1. Either try the methods listed in the comments or contact Acer support. I do not have the algorithm for 10-digit Acer BIOS at the moment.

  38. Hi am just doing something wrong dell #9PSHH72-6FF1 tried several times but nothing no code shows up please help

    1. Sorry about that Richie, I’m experimenting with various caching & CDN systems to improve website performance as the visitor numbers scale up. Seems like some affect site functionality negatively, & that’s no good for anyone. So no, you didn’t do anything wrong, & thank you for reporting the issue. It’s fixed now, your unlock code is FcCZmCR8ZRzzEMWS

  39. Looks like it doesn’t take codes like 2016/12/05 (as shown on ASUS screen), if entered as 2016-12-05 it gives a password but it doesn’t seem to work.

    1. Heh, that, Mike, is because here in the sunny South Pacific, way down at the end of the Internet, we do write our dates DD/MM/YYYY – the reverse of yours, which do – I must admit – make more logical sense than ours do. But anyway, play it the Kiwi way – put your date code in backwards & let’s hope you get lucky.

  40. Hi, i need to unlock ma acer travelmate P645-S, key: 67994976 leads to an generated key from your site (Same as from other sites) that doesn’t work.
I suppose insyde/acer changed the was of generatIng the unlock key… Do you have any hint?

      1. Remove your RAM, look for 2 pads labelled G2201. Remove your laptop battery & charger connection. Hold a piece of wire firmly on both the G2201 pads. Now connect your charger & press power.

If you don’t have immediate success, try again with a firmer connection between wire & pads. You may have to do this 5-6 times but eventually you’ll free yourself of the BIOS password.

        1. I will have a closer look. I only See jcmos, no G2201, and no other pads… Hmm. Jcmos didnt work…

          1. Look closely for 2 pads next to each other, very similar in style to the JCMOS pads. Maybe labelled JCMOS1 or RTCRST or JPW. Short those as I suggested.

  41. Acer Aspire R3-131T-C1YF
    S/N NXG10AA005541017626600
    F2 Forgotten Password
3 times gives gets me to Bios however can’t clear Supervisor Password

Tried Multiple software with no luck

    MUST fix for school use

    1. Have you got the BIOS key hint? If not, Acer BIOS clears when you remove the CMOS battery, main battery, power connection & RAM, then press the power button for 15 seconds to clear any last residual bits of current. Now replace everything & you’re good to go.

  42. If you’ve got a BIOS lock, I would use the longer Dell from Serial password. If it’s merely a HDD password – you’ll know this for sure if you swap the HDD & boot successfully – then use the shorter password.

Don’t forget to hold the right Ctrl key when you press Enter to validate the password.

    1. Well, that’s where I’m stuck….I have 3 HDD’s but they’re junk they don’t work. So worse case scenario is that I have to go and buy a new HDD. I think that’ll cure the problem! Thanks for your time Megabyte.

      1. Try booting without a hard drive, see if you get dropped into the BIOS/UEFI. You won’t do any damage. If so, it’s a HDD lock for sure & you’ve just been given the password.

If you’re running Win10 on another laptop, that drive will just slot in & highly likely boot straight up. The other option is to download a Win10 PE .iso, use Rufus to burn it to USB & boot from that.

(It’s not really burning, there’s no smoke)

        1. Alright, I’ll try that but the only other laptop I have belonged to my late uncle and I’m not comfortable opening it up it works and I don’t want to mess it up. I’ll let you know what I come up with going without the HDD.

    2. Ok, it definitely has a system or bios pw. But I found the only sn in the batt comp and input it into the generator and it doesn’t pop up any codes. My sn is CN-OU692R-12961-973-3277-AO1 not sure if the O’s are zeros or vice versa? It’s got windows vista as the current OS so it looks like a lost cause. Thank you for your efforts I’ll be back I want to see the generator work successfully seeing others having good luck it has to be for real. Take care

        1. Heck ya that worked but there is a HDD pw and the one the generator gave me didn’t work but I’ll keep at it thank you so much.

          1. If it’s not the original hard drive, maybe it’s one locked by another machine, then no, the generated password won’t accept. Maybe the original drive is one of the other drives you have? Try them if you think that’s possible. Hard drives will only unlock in the laptop with which they were originally locked.

If not, a new HDD isn’t a major expense, but for a 10-year old laptop I’m sure you can pick up a reasonably reliable used drive at your local recycling center. Scavenge 2x 2GB DDR2 RAM – that’s your biggest performance booster. Then install Ubuntu or another lightweight OS on it & you’ve done a good thing, returning old junk to life, making it useful for someone instead of useless to everyone.

            1. Honestly speaking I’m not a big fan of Ubuntu but I guess in this case I have no other choice right? It’s actually my cousins laptop given to her by her friend who passed away and that’s the reason for the password dilemma. Anyways I am a believer in your generator it worked awesomely. Now if I can get past iOS heh heh, I’d be in trouble. Lol have a good night and once again thank you a million.

  43. Does your code generator work for Dell Latitude E6400 96ZYRK1-2A7B is the service tag number on the system/admin password entry white screen. Or would that be a HDD password? Thanks, James

  44. please please help ,
i have a proof of purchase of laptop fujitsu lifebook AH531
I forgot my bios password ,I can’t boot can you please help ?

    1. Richard, Vaio VGN uses the notorious 4×4 pattern one-time BIOS code where the 4×4 code changes each reboot – hence the one-time reference.
Go ahead, grab the 16 digits showing on your errant laptop screen & enter them into the BIOS Master Password Generator. Click the Crack It button & you’ll have your answer.
If you are doing this remotely, make sure the Vaio doesn’t shut down between you taking the 4×4 code & entering the master password.

  45. i have a samsung laptop my code is an 18 diget one:50E0B09B6E77BD9C231 but “dogbert”‘s
only goes to a 12 didget code what do i do in this situation?

  46. Yes! It worked! God, I have been trying to solve this problem for days. I have a Dell Latitude E7440. My code ended in 6FF1 and I used the ‘Dell from serial number’ password that this page generated. I entered the password and then pressed left-control and enter. BINGO!

  47. my codes will not work it’s tag 7YWKNJ2-6FF1 I’m pushing crtl+enter but no luck can you help me out

  48. I Cant get the button to respond after i enter my service tag. its a dell latitude e6440 service tag 8x6td12 and the machine id is 238QSK1K2AA-1F66. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?

    1. Hi Steve, bugger, I was doing some updating on that page this morning, must have forked something up. I just tried it with Chrome on my iPad though, here’s your code – S8EME9kKDUMUVqof

  49. You are the best for a dell 6FF1 I have entered the “Dell from serial number” field password and pressed left CTRL and ENTER (not the OK button)
P.S. the Service Key that you enter is case sensitive !!!

    Where can we donate?

    TKS

  50. You are the best for a dell 6FF1 I have entered the “Dell from serial number” field password and pressed left CTRL and ENTER (not the OK button)

P.S. the Service Key that you enter is case sensitive !!!

  51. I just ran a Dell 6FF1 UEFI successfully, B02HMC2-6FF1 was the Asset Code, master password response generated fz0Ibn3vHw321fNs – which is correct.

Two points to consider: the 4th character is an upper case i – not lower l, & even if you have entered the password correctly, you still need to hold the right-side Ctrl key when you press Enter.

    1. Hi John, it’s not so much the laptop manufacturer that’s relevant here, it’s the bios provider who is targeted.

Award bios is used by several laptop manufacturers, for example. Award own Phoenix, there’s also Insyde & AMI brand bios too. Very rarely do the manufacturers write their own custom bios. Even if the bios is self-branded, there’s a high likelihood of simple rebranding going on.

If your (insert brand name here) laptop has a bios that reports back with a challenge code – This Laptop XYZ123456 Is Locked – or similar, then you know that the possibility of decoding the password exists.

I don’t have a Toshiba laptop & I’m not certain who makes the bios in those models you mention.

My best suggestion is to give it a go, it’s free to use & I’d be interested to know the answer too.

Cheers, thanks for stopping by @1024kb.co.nz

  52. I’ve updated the decrypting JavaScript to include later model laptops today. It’s still a case of “some, not all” but this solution does cover the majority of brand name laptop manufacturers – Dell, HP, Sony, Acer, Samsung etc, and now includes their late model products too.

  53. Is not working. Button not even respond. Stupid button… Okay I make joke, that was joke. Is a nice button.

Can you help with fix or workaround? Maybe I do something wrong, but still I get no error code.

I enter my challenge code: AL2MY-N48VX-2TD8G-JH4UH-KCG5K

    1. What brand of laptop is giving you that response code?

As it says up the top of the page – for some, not all laptops. Maybe (sadly) this is not one that the decryptor works on.

  54. So like my boyfriend says “no, that laptop is f**ked” and I think “I’m gonna go ask Megabyte” and I don’t even ask, I just use this page. I put the code numbers and letters in then click Crack It and Yis! it worked!! And all my posse are going “Yis, girl power!” and now I am l337 haXx0r!
