Battery Failure
Three times recently I've had dead laptops presented no sign of life. These were all late model machines too, less than 2 years old. All 3 were fixed by removing the main battery, CMOS battery & RAM, then holding the power button for 20 seconds before reassembly. Now connect mains power, push start button, enjoy your laptop.
