Individual brands have quirks specific to that manufacturer. Check your brand below - there may be secret sauce that enables your BIOS to crack.
In the case of Asus laptops it's the date code you require - enter an incorrect password then press Alt +R at the next prompt. Take that date & enter it in the BIOS Master Password Generator below in the same order (yyyy-dd-mm, mm-dd-yyyy or dd-mm-yyyy) as displayed on your Asus laptop.
NB: Use the hyphen key "-" as the date separator, not "/". Like this: dd-mm-yyyy, not dd/mm/yyyy.
If your Asus doesn't display a date code on Alt +R boot, there are 2 touchpoints by your RAM slots. Google for your machine's exact location & short them with a paper clip or tweezers - ka-ching! No more BIOS password.
Dell use 3 minor inconveniences to defend their BIOS security. Without following their protocol, even correct BIOS Master Passwords will fail.
1. Use a USB QWERTY keyboad.
2. When entering an Uppercase character use Caps Lock, NOT Shift.
3. Press & hold the left Ctrl key when entering the password in Dell laptops, then hit Enter twice.
If your Dell service tag suffix is -0001, stop right here. That suffix indicates that the Allow Master Password switch is turned off in BIOS. You can try downgrading your BIOS but most likely will need to use an SPI Reader to dunp the BIOS.bin file - we can clean it for you.
Some Dell service tags are missing a suffix – first try the password generated, then try the passwords for all suffices by adding either -595B, -2A7B, -D35B, -1F66, -6FF1 or -BF97 to your service tag.
Downgrading the BIOS can change your suffix, resulting in a successful password generation. If your BIOS is set to allow downgrades, this method will help.
-8FC8 & -E7A8 suffix are based on an entirely new method. BIOS Master Passwords are available after PayPal donation to support further research.

The administrative password is set on this computer. You cannot acsess Setup until correct password is entered. If you need to change any setup fields , you must first enter the administrative password in this field . Otherwise you can view the various settings and you may. Be able to change some depending on the way the administrator has configured the system.
Thanks to you and the help of “Megabyte” the laptop is now fully functional after following your latest BIOS recovery instructions. The BIOS was unlocked on the first try! I reinstalled windows from a ISO on a flash drive as per suggestion from Megabyte. Thanks you sir for your assistance!

First let me thank you for the rapid response!
let me tell you what has transpired:
1. I entered he “NEW INSTRUCTIONS” and lo and behold the DELL logo appeared saying “Please wait”. Now I was getting excited!
2. Next came a “Recovery” screen telling me “A required device isn’t connected or can’t be accessed.”with an error code:0xc000000f.
Choose one of the options below to address this problem.
a. Press Esc for recovery
b. Press Enter to try again
c. Press F8 for Startup Settings
d. Presse F9 to use a different operating system
The only option that responded was a. Press Esc for recovery.
After doing so the “Dell SupportAssist OS recovery started to load and has been loading for 30 minutes thus far.
I guess I’ll wait ’til the morning to see if there are any results.
Which leads me to a question, If I turn off the laptop will I still be able to use the code you provided? is there a way to bypass the Dell SupportAssist when the laptop first boots to the Dell logo?

The “required device” that’s missing is Microsoft speak for an active boot partition on your hard drive. An obfuscated description to say the least.
Have you got a Winstall USB stick? Get one. Boot from it & do a complete fresh install – forget the Dell Recovery options. That’s my advice anyway, FWIW.
Also, the first thing you do after entering your Mikrovr-made BIOS Master Password is clear the existing passwords. You don’t need those any more, move them on.

That’s for sure. Most of these Latitudes all you need is a master password, or pull the time clock battery for cheap laptops. But so far these require a lot more to get there. I thank you for clarifying.
I don’t believe you can… I have a 7400 that’s still locked. Apparently you have to find an unlocked bios to flash it with. I don’ really understand that myself and I am a fairly technical guy.
It’s the border where software & hardware meet. An SPI reader/writer isn’t an expensive item, however the BIOS extraction, decryption & reflashing can be a taxing experience. There’s usually online help available for decrypting & cleaning BIOS/UEFI files but the physical dumping process is a hands-on gig.
It’s not meant to be easy, it wouldn’t be called BIOS security otherwise.

If your frustrations are getting the better of you & you simply cannot wait for Mikrovr or indeed someone else to release the required solution, there is nothing stopping you from building the keygen yourself. Also, you have the advantage of an -8FC8 laptop to test the solution on.

I have emailed you more details about the locked SSD and the on-screen partial code – 2A7B (rest were hidden in ****) shown on my Dell laptop. In the past, you were able to unlock the password of original hdd on the a different laptop with limited info just like above. Are you saying the master password for Dell model will not work on the locked SSD? However, the hdd on the different laptop you helped unlock before was a SanDisk brand that’s not OEM drive either.

I had an older western digital hard drive (not ssd) a few months ago that was the original hard drive in an Acer laptop. However, there’s no tool to remove the hdd password on the Acer laptop. I did have the password on that old hdd and put it into a different HP laptop that had security manager to remove password for the old hdd.
If you can get me the correct master password on the WD 3D Nand SSD, then I can reset the password using Dell security manager. Will that work the same as the HP laptop security manager explained above?

I believe that you do not understand what I am explaining!
It is only possible to unlock it with master password using the same laptop that locked it, if you don’t have the original laptop your HDD is doomed.
This person has the same issue as me. https://www.dell.com/community/Inspiron/Locked-hard-drive/td-p/7331121 But my WD 3D Nand SSD is not the original hard drive for the dell laptop. The SSD is a retail SSD that can be used in any laptop for upgrade.
I do not know if you remember the first time I donated and you helped me a few months ago. That was a different Dell laptop with bios password locked. You helped me clear the bios password first, but then there’s a hdd password lock. You asked me for on-screen code and cleared the hdd password later. This time I only have the issue with the western digital WD 3D Nand SSD being locked with a password, so I can put it into any laptop but need the password to be removed to use further. Thanks.
Yes, it’s a standard WD 3D Nand SSD that’s not the original hard drive for any laptop. It’s used on another laptop for upgrade but that laptop has motherboard fried recently. The SSD is working and I used crystal diskinfo to check its health 100% with less than 2 TB read/write data and ran less than 300 hours so far. However, without the correct password, I cannot unlock the hdd or format it. I do not need any data in the SSD, since I will use it to upgrade another laptop and load fresh Windows 10 later.

Yes I can calculate the correct master password, more to work only if the HD was blocked on the same notebook by the user, if the HDD was blocked by another notebook, even typing the correct password will not work.
I have the western digital ssd with me. When I plugged it into the Dell laptop, it asked for HDD password with a code displayed ****** -2A7B. I do not know the rest *** on the screen. Are you able to identify the master password on the Western Digital or WD Blue 3D Nand SSD to remove the old password, so I can wipe out the SSD on my Dell laptop? I am willing to do donation but I need a firm answer if the issue can be solved. Thanks.

I put it into a Dell laptop and the security manager on Dell asked me to enter a password. I do not recall the old password. How to remove the password?
