In the case of Asus laptops it's the date code you require - enter an incorrect password then press Alt +R at the next prompt. Take that date & enter it in the BIOS Master Password Generator below in the same order (yyyy-dd-mm, mm-dd-yyyy or dd-mm-yyyy) as displayed on your Asus laptop.
NB: Use the hyphen key "-" as the date separator, not "/". Like this: dd-mm-yyyy, not dd/mm/yyyy.
If your Asus doesn't display a date code on Alt +R boot, there are 2 touchpoints by your RAM slots. Google for your machine's exact location & short them with a paper clip or tweezers - ka-ching! No more BIOS password.
Dell use 3 minor inconveniences to defend their BIOS security. Without following their protocol, even correct BIOS Master Passwords will fail.
1. Use a USB QWERTY keyboad.
2. When entering an Uppercase character use Caps Lock, NOT Shift.
3. Press & hold the left Ctrl key when entering the password in Dell laptops, then hit Enter twice.
If your Dell service tag suffix is -0001, stop right here. That suffix indicates that the Allow Master Password switch is turned off in BIOS. You can try downgrading your BIOS but most likely will need to use an SPI Reader to dunp the BIOS.bin file - we can clean it for you.
Some Dell service tags are missing a suffix – first try the password generated, then try the passwords for all suffices by adding either -595B, -2A7B, -D35B, -1F66, -6FF1 or -BF97 to your service tag.
Downgrading the BIOS can change your suffix, resulting in a successful password generation. If your BIOS is set to allow downgrades, this method will help.
-8FC8 & -E7A8 suffix are based on an entirely new method. BIOS Master Passwords are available after PayPal donation to support further research.

Many Lenovo laptops do not use a Master Password system. These laptops require BIOS file rewrite.
All Samsung laptops with either 12, 18 or 44 hexadecimal challenge codes are vulnerable to our BIOS Master Password Generator. Enter your unique code, click the Crack It button - there's your password.
Sony & Vaio brand 4 x 4 Challenge Codes are a one-time password, generated fresh each boot.
Do not turn the laptop off after obtaining the Challenge Code as the BIOS Master Password is specific to that code. Restarting before the password is entered will require a new Master Password.

Sorry Tom, it’s way beyond the spec of this service to provide the particular password entry nuance for each model Dell produce. Rather than the Service Code, have you found your BIOS response code, finishing like -1F66 or -1F5A or similar. Throw that into the Laptop BIOS Master Password Generator.

Looks like it doesn’t take codes like 2016/12/05 (as shown on ASUS screen), if entered as 2016-12-05 it gives a password but it doesn’t seem to work.
Heh, that, Mike, is because here in the sunny South Pacific, way down at the end of the Internet, we do write our dates DD/MM/YYYY – the reverse of yours, which do – I must admit – make more logical sense than ours do. But anyway, play it the Kiwi way – put your date code in backwards & let’s hope you get lucky.

Remove your RAM, look for 2 pads labelled G2201. Remove your laptop battery & charger connection. Hold a piece of wire firmly on both the G2201 pads. Now connect your charger & press power.
If you don’t have immediate success, try again with a firmer connection between wire & pads. You may have to do this 5-6 times but eventually you’ll free yourself of the BIOS password.
I will have a closer look. I only See jcmos, no G2201, and no other pads… Hmm. Jcmos didnt work…
Look closely for 2 pads next to each other, very similar in style to the JCMOS pads. Maybe labelled JCMOS1 or RTCRST or JPW. Short those as I suggested.

Have you got the BIOS key hint? If not, Acer BIOS clears when you remove the CMOS battery, main battery, power connection & RAM, then press the power button for 15 seconds to clear any last residual bits of current. Now replace everything & you’re good to go.
If you’ve got a BIOS lock, I would use the longer Dell from Serial password. If it’s merely a HDD password – you’ll know this for sure if you swap the HDD & boot successfully – then use the shorter password.
Don’t forget to hold the right Ctrl key when you press Enter to validate the password.
Well, that’s where I’m stuck….I have 3 HDD’s but they’re junk they don’t work. So worse case scenario is that I have to go and buy a new HDD. I think that’ll cure the problem! Thanks for your time Megabyte.
Try booting without a hard drive, see if you get dropped into the BIOS/UEFI. You won’t do any damage. If so, it’s a HDD lock for sure & you’ve just been given the password.
If you’re running Win10 on another laptop, that drive will just slot in & highly likely boot straight up. The other option is to download a Win10 PE .iso, use Rufus to burn it to USB & boot from that.
(It’s not really burning, there’s no smoke)
Alright, I’ll try that but the only other laptop I have belonged to my late uncle and I’m not comfortable opening it up it works and I don’t want to mess it up. I’ll let you know what I come up with going without the HDD.
Ok, it definitely has a system or bios pw. But I found the only sn in the batt comp and input it into the generator and it doesn’t pop up any codes. My sn is CN-OU692R-12961-973-3277-AO1 not sure if the O’s are zeros or vice versa? It’s got windows vista as the current OS so it looks like a lost cause. If it’s not the original hard drive, maybe it’s one locked by another machine, then no, the generated password won’t accept. Maybe the original drive is one of the other drives you have? Try them if you think that’s possible. Hard drives will only unlock in the laptop with which they were originally locked.
If not, a new HDD isn’t a major expense, but for a 10-year old laptop I’m sure you can pick up a reasonably reliable used drive at your local recycling center. Scavenge 2x 2GB DDR2 RAM – that’s your biggest performance booster. Then install Ubuntu or another lightweight OS on it & you’ve done a good thing, returning old junk to life, making it useful for someone instead of useless to everyone.
Honestly speaking I’m not a big fan of Ubuntu but I guess in this case I have no other choice right? It’s actually my cousins laptop given to her by her friend who passed away and that’s the reason for the password dilemma. Anyways I am a believer in your generator it worked awesomely. Richard, Vaio VGN uses the notorious 4×4 pattern one-time BIOS code where the 4×4 code changes each reboot – hence the one-time reference.
Go ahead, grab the 16 digits showing on your errant laptop screen & enter them into the BIOS Master Password Generator. Click the Crack It button & you’ll have your answer.
If you are doing this remotely, make sure the Vaio doesn’t shut down between you taking the 4×4 code & entering the master password.

That’s because you’re 1 digit short of a Dell passcode. 7 characters + suffix gets you there

I just ran a Dell 6FF1 UEFI successfully, B02HMC2-6FF1 was the Asset Code, master password response generated fz0Ibn3vHw321fNs – which is correct.
Two points to consider: the 4th character is an upper case i – not lower l, & even if you have entered the password correctly, you still need to hold the right-side Ctrl key when you press Enter.

Hi John, it’s not so much the laptop manufacturer that’s relevant here, it’s the bios provider who is targeted.
Award bios is used by several laptop manufacturers, for example. Award own Phoenix, there’s also Insyde & AMI brand bios too. Very rarely do the manufacturers write their own custom bios. Even if the bios is self-branded, there’s a high likelihood of simple rebranding going on.
If your (insert brand name here) laptop has a bios that reports back with a challenge code – This Laptop XYZ123456 Is Locked – or similar, then you know that the possibility of decoding the password exists.
I don’t have a Toshiba laptop & I’m not certain who makes the bios in those models you mention.
My best suggestion is to give it a go, it’s free to use & I’d be interested to know the answer too.

I’ve updated the decrypting JavaScript to include later model laptops today. It’s still a case of “some, not all” but this solution does cover the majority of brand name laptop manufacturers – Dell, HP, Sony, Acer, Samsung etc, and now includes their late model products too.

As it says up the top of the page – for some, not all laptops. Maybe (sadly) this is not one that the decryptor works on.
